Funk, Soul and Motown Covers Band are a professional live band, and having played together for several years, they have honed their sound and performance over many live shows.
Based in Portsmouth, the band regularly perform at weddings, parties and corporate events across the South of England, including Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Dorset.
They think carefully about the songs they play, choosing only the best of classic soul, funk and Motown as well as a wide range of modern pop performers who have their own soul or funk vibe. The band are continually updating their set list to ensure there’s a good range of songs to appeal to a wide audience. You'll hear them playing everything from Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and James Brown to Beyoncé, Aloe Blacc and Bruno Mars.
In order to do justice to the songs that they love to play, the band consists of a full horn section as well as the usual vocals, guitar, bass, drums and keys. This allows them to recreate the sound authentically, without cheating with backing tracks.
What’s most important to this funk, soul and Motown band is that the audience have fun, and enjoy the event. They work hard and ensure that they look after the entertainment side of things, and always make sure that they exceed expectations and be flexible to the needs of an event.
They offer a tight and polished performance while injecting a huge amount of energy and fun into each show. Creating an electric atmosphere, they don’t rest until they’ve packed the dance floor!
