Harpist Juan

Conjure up the magic of a bygone age with the beautiful sound of a Harp as Juan provides a delightful background accompaniment to a variety of different functions.

The harp, known as the 'instrument of the gods' dates back to ancient times, it is the magical 'fairy tale' sound that will enchant any audience and it is capable of transforming a 'run of the mill' event, into an elegant, emotional experience.

Talented harpist Juan began his musical studies at a young age, beginning his musical career with the Youth Orchestra and Youth Symphonic Band of Castile and León of which he is a founding member and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.

In 2009 he concluded his harp studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid with an honours award and has since given recitals in Madrid, Verona, Rabat, Palencia, Salamanca, Barcelona, Valladolid, Sevilla and more.

Juan has been honoured twice for his harp playing and has recently been awarded the TIM Italy being invited to give a recital in Verona. He has recently been given the award of the foundation Miguel Angel Colmenero as one of the performers of the year.

As a soloist, Juan has performed with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Castilla and Leon, Youth Orchestra of the Conservatory of Salamanca, Caja Duero Camerata Orchestra, Philharmonic Baroque Camerata Palencia and Madrid.

He has also collaborated with the Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian State Orchestra Rostov Philharmonic Orchestra of Morocco, Orchestra Netherlands Chamber Choir Francis Poulenc, Camerata Caja Duero, Symphony Extremadura Symphony Orchestra Albacete and Orchestra of the Conservatory of Salamanca among others.

Very involved in contemporary music, Juan works regularly with the Ensemble for Contemporary Music at the Conservatory of Salamanca, and the National Ensemble of Spain, and has also released three harp and electroacoustic works.
