Portuguese Band is a professional group of portugese and latin musicians based in Amsterdam and available to perform worldwide. Combining a jazz band repertoire with a traditional fado band style, this unique ensemble features a talented female jazz vocalist and a number of fantastic instrumentalists. 

Proudly maintaining their Portuguese roots, this jazz band unites a genre which originated in New Orleans (jazz) with ‘Fado’ music, whose origins date back to 1800s Portugal. Fado bands are famous for the traditional musical structure of their songs, characterised by the sense of longing or ‘saudade’ that they evoke in listeners. Adding Brazilian melodies, African grooves and Flamenco vibes into the mix, our unique group provide a truly diverse range of styles for guests to enjoy. Able to adapt to the requirements of your event, our group can play a genre specific set or incorporate all of their influences into one wow factor show. Performing original tracks from their critically acclaimed albums or beautiful covers, our talented band are certain to bring passion and warmth to your special occasion.
