Malaysia Jazz Ensemble

Drawing inspiration from the many facets of modern life, influenced by Malaysian and other Asian cultures, the music of our Malaysia Jazz Ensemble cuts across many musical genres and defies any kind of classification.

Having began in 2006 the band have grown and brought their music to many corners of Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Macao. In one of these tours, the jazz ensemble managed to travel extensively over 18 cities within a month, using different means of transportation, playing in many different types of venues.

The present jazz ensemble consists of bandleader/composer/arranger/music director/pianist, bassist, drummer and saxophonist. The band remains one of the most active units in the Malaysian performance circuit and is one of the most sought after bands in Malaysia for Hi-Fi recordings and live performances. A jazz ensemble that was nominated 10 times in the Kakiseni-Boh Cameronian Arts Awards in 2016, and won three awards.

Our exceptional Malaysia Jazz Ensemble have worked with notable Malaysian and international artists from Janet Lee to Lydia Chew, Winnie Ho, Yang Wei Han, Michael Simon and more.

In addition to performing with international singers our jazz musician has been invited to appear in many festivals such as Taichung Jazz Festival, Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival, Phuket International Jazz Festival, UCSI International Jazz Fest, Tianjin International Jazz Fest and many others.

Performing all over Malaysia our jazz musicians are a fan favourite and perfect for creating ambient vibes and performing live event music that can be booked as both ambient entertainment as well as a stage show.
