Beijing Gypsy Jazz Band

Our brilliant Beijing Gypsy Jazz Band in a multi-national ensemble of very talented musicians that takes musical inspiration from the styles of the legendary Django Reinhardt in the 1930s and 1940s. This is by far one of the finest providers of gypsy jazz in China and their superb old fashioned swing music, completed by perfectly suited stage wear, makes this group a very enjoyable live music experience for any kind of audience. 

The Beijing Gypsy Jazz Band has members from France, the United States, Greece and China. The group features two guitarists, a percussionist and a double bass player as well as having the option to add in a clarinet player as the fifth member. 

The gypsy jazz band’s live music repertoire includes Django Reinhardt-esque songs as well as American swing classics, jazz manouche, traditional gypsy waltzes, Latin pieces and even traditional Chinese and Italian compositions where the guitarist occasionally plays the mandolin to add a different tonality to the set. As well as their varied repertoire, the singer is also able to sing in English, French, Italian and Chinese.  

The band has been playing gypsy jazz in China for many years and have won the award for Best band of the year by City Weekend Beijing three times as well as being nominated by the National LPA awards for the best Jazz Band. They have been involved in countless events in and around Beijing and have worked with high profile clients such as Ferrari, Louis Vuitton, Air France and the Institue Français.
