This Dutch folk dance group from Utrecht keeps a piece of the rich Dutch folk dance tradition alive. The group consists of about ten male dancers, ten female dancers and four musicians who together interact and dance with the audience.

The group always dances to live music played by its own orchestra. The musicians play, amongst others, concertina, mandola, violin and accordion.

Dances
Their repertoire consist of traditional dances from all over the Netherlands, for example Terschelling, Friesland, the Achterhoek, Noord Brabant, West Friesland and Zeeland.

In line with tradition, they also create new dances. Also in their repertoire are some dances from the beginning of the 1900s, derived from ballroom dances, which were popular in all of Western Europe.

The Dutch Folk Dance group always adapt their programme to the audience: Children’s dances for (and with) children, nostalgic dances for older people, simple dances to dance together with the audience and dazzling dances on stage and at international festivals.
