A leading entrepreneur, author, virtual speaker, venture capitalist, and TV personality. Renowned for his guest judge appearances on ABC’s reality show Shark Tank in the USA and Dragon's Den in Canada. His other TV roles include co-hosting BNN’s SqueezePlay, hosting BNN’s O’Leary Live, and co-hosting the CBC News world's business show, Lang & O’Leary Exchange.

He identifies as an “eco-preneur,” with a focus on investments that are both profitable and environmentally sustainable. He is also a photographer, watch collector, guitarist, and author of three number 1 best-sellers: "Cold Hard Truth," "Men, Women and Money," and "Family Kids and Money."

O'Leary studied at the University of Waterloo, earning a degree in environmental studies and psychology in 1977. He later attended the Ivey Business School, where he received his MBA in 1980.

In 1986, Kevin co-founded SoftKey Software, the first to apply consumer goods marketing principles to the software industry. SoftKey rapidly expanded as personal computers became more affordable, leading millions of North American families to purchase educational and entertainment software.

By 1998, SoftKey had acquired numerous competitors, becoming the world leader in educational, reference, and home productivity software, and the second-largest consumer software company globally. The company was later renamed The Learning Company and was acquired by The Mattel Toy Company for $4.2 billion in 1999.

In 2003, he became a co-investor and director at Storage Now, a leading developer of climate-controlled storage facilities. In July 2007, Kevin became a founding SPAC investor and Director of Stream Global Services Inc., and is the Chairman of O’Shares ETF Investments and Beanstox.

Kevin also has investments in over 30 private venture companies across various sectors. He is a member of Boston’s 120-year-old Hamilton Trust, a contributor to CNBC, ABC News, and Good Morning America, and a co-host for the Discovery Channel's Project Earth series.
