George is an architect, television presenter, campaigner and educator. He passionately believes that architecture, art and design should be accessible to everyone and has the power to transform and enrich lives.

Whether he is designing a new home, restoring or converting historic buildings or transforming existing houses on television, he recognizes and values the process that enables people to unlock the beauty of where they live.

He realized early on in his career that the concept of home embodied the possibility to a more inclusive approach to good architectural practice. There generally is no place like home. This is the space which allows for a creative form of expression that we can all embrace and manipulate: whether it’s transforming a tiny bedroom or managing a large-scale build, we all have the possibility of experimenting with our environment and in doing so improving the way we live and hopefully learn something new along the way.

“Home is the most powerful form of architecture that affects us all, and if you are lucky enough to have a warm and comfortable roof over your head, it is a very special place indeed”.

George is keen to challenge the notion that great art and design can only be possessed by the few and shines the spotlight on many disciplines within the more traditional spheres of architecture, art and design. From a brave restoration to new builds on a budget, pre-fabricated or built from scratch, recycled, vintage or new, it’s all about sharing skills and knowledge, and the value of a team which includes a combination of architect, designer, engineer, craftsman, artists, manufacturer, historian, writer and owner.

His tastes and interests are wide-ranging – architecture, painting, photography, furniture, art, clothing, motorcycle and bike design. For him, the vital key is whether they have been designed with passion and integrity.
Architecture, design and property based, his TV programmes are distributed worldwide. Using his knowledge base and experience he makes good architectural design principles understandable and achievable. In 2012 George won multiple awards for his Empty Homes Campaign “The Great British Property Scandal” and in 2015 the success and high production values of “George Clarkes Amazing Spaces” were recognised in its nomination for a British Academy television award (BAFTA).
