Dario Costa
Professional stunt and para-dropping pilot and aerobatic performer, Dario Costa, made history as the first Italian to compete and win in the Red Bull Air Race. He is renowned for his groundbreaking stunts and numerous world records, including the only flight through a tunnel with an airplane.
Dario's love for flying began in his early childhood, and he started learning to pilot while still in high school, completing his first solo flight at 16 years old. He earned Aeroclub Bologna’s first scholarship, which enabled him to obtain his commercial pilot, flight instructor, and aerobatic flight instructor qualifications.
While teaching and competing in aerobatics, Costa has significantly advanced in the sport and served as the contest director of the 2011 FAI World Aerobatic Championships. He later became Chief Flight and Ground Instructor at the Aeroclub Milano.
In 2013, Dario joined the Red Bull Air Race World Championship as flight operations manager, development, and ferry pilot. In 2016, he became the first Italian to qualify as a Red Bull Air Race World Championship race pilot. Since then, he has continually pushed the boundaries of aviation, setting numerous world records and performing innovative stunts.
