Indian Entertainment
This act presents the vibrant folk music of Rajasthan, India. The band showcases a rich variety of music and dance, representing the distinctive styles of the two unique groups that inhabit Rajasthan’s desert lands: the Langas and Manganiyars.
They bring to international audiences the sounds of their country's traditional musicians, whose art has been supported by affluent landlords and aristocrats for generations. Both Langas and Manganiyars are communities of Muslim musicians, yet many of their songs praise Hindu deities and celebrate Hindu festivals such as Diwali and Holi.
With this lively and inclusive offering, the group has garnered global acclaim. They have performed in diverse venues across many countries, including the Hollywood Bowl (opening for global superstar A.R. Rahman), the Kennedy Center (Maximum India), the 11th Chicago World Music Festival, and the 5th Annual New York Gypsy Festival at the World Music Institute, along with many other dynamic performances throughout the US and Canada.
This Indian dance and music act consistently proves that their performances are thrilling journeys into the musical and cultural heritage of Northern India, captivating audiences worldwide.
