Jazz Band Moscow
This Moscow-based jazz ensemble specializes in swing and mainstream jazz, combining the original "old" jazz aesthetic with a modern touch. Formed in 2008, the band features clarinet, guitar, double bass, and drums, with occasional additions of alto saxophone, vocals, and other instruments for a richer sound.
Their instrumentation is perfect for acoustic jazz styles, ranging from classic French gypsy jazz or Benny Goodman's swing to more modern bebop or bossa-nova. Their passion for the music is evident, a rare quality often lost in the formal education process required to excel in high-quality jazz.
Since its inception, the Russian Jazz Band has been captivating dancers, primarily at the Moscow Swing Dance Club. Their debut performance there was sensational, evoking the atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties. Since then, they've played regularly at dance balls, blues nights, jazz clubs, festivals, and open-air concerts.
In addition to their lively jazz performances, the band can deliver a more subdued vibe, perfect for exhibitions, presentations, business meetings, weddings, and similar events. In these settings, their elegant jazz, subtle rhythms, and natural acoustic sound create the ideal atmosphere for any occasion.
Their repertoire includes early hot jazz, swing, gypsy jazz, blues, dixieland, bossa-nova, early bebop, and cool jazz tunes, along with occasional jazz interpretations of popular hits. Merging authenticity with modernity, the Jazz Band's credo is to maintain a true jazz aesthetic while expressing their unique identity.
