Shangri-La Theatre Show
This Chinese theatre show in Zhengzhou Henan is inspired by the fictional place Shangri-La from James Hilton’s 1933 novel ‘Lost Horizon’. Described as a mystical and harmonious valley, Shangri-La has become synonymous with a utopian paradise and evokes images of the exotic Orient and its people. In ancient Tibetan scriptures, the existence of seven Shangri-La-like places is mentioned, believed by many to have been sacred places of refuge for Buddhists.
In this theatre performance, 18 performers bring Shangri-La to life. They evoke images of the beautiful hills and sacred rivers that nourish the mythical people of Shangri-La with graceful choreographies, haunting music, vibrant sets, and colorful elaborate costumes. Enchanting and cheerful, this stunning theatre show will captivate audiences of all ages and is perfect for themed events, cultural festivals, after-dinner shows, and more.
