Shangri-La Theatre Show
This Chinese theater show in Zhengzhou Henan is based on the fictional place Shangri-La from author James Hilton’s 1933 novel ‘Lost Horizon’. Described as a mystical harmonious valley, Shangri-La has become synonymous with utopian paradise and evokes images of the exotic Orient and its people. In ancient Tibetan scriptures, the existence of seven ‘Shangri-La’ like places is mentioned and many believe them to have been ancient sites built as sacred refuges for Buddhists.
In this theater performance, 18 performers bring Shangri-La to life. They conjure images of the beautiful hills and sacred rivers that nourish the mythical people of Shangri-La with graceful choreography, haunting music, vibrant sets, and colorful, elaborate costumes. Enchanting and cheerful, this stunning theater show will delight audiences of all ages and is perfect for themed events, cultural festivals, after-dinner shows, and more.
