British String Quartet

The British String Quartet was formed especially for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and London 2012, and received high praise at major public and Olympic Sponsor events including the Thames Diamond Jubilee Festival, The Olympic Park, and a 10-night residency at the Royal Opera House.

Embodying the essence of Cool Britannia, this Union Jack adorned quartet plays classic Britpop and British music with a unique orchestral twist. The Quartet’s Best of British set features youthful, culturally diverse players who are some of the finest classically trained musicians in London.

This adaptable string quartet performs a wide range of genres, from Brit pop to dub step and drum and bass. The repertoire for this set includes their own unique renditions of iconic British pieces by artists such as Queen, The Beatles, and The Verve. They also bring their own urban orchestral twist to TV and film themes, including Doctor Who and James Bond.

An additional option allows for a male or female vocalist to join the group, performing British pop classic hits by artists such as Oasis, Coldplay, and Elbow.

Their skilled male and female vocalists team up with the players to get the crowd dancing to well-loved tunes by top British artists such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, Soul II Soul, Robbie Williams, Emeli Sandé, Jessie J, and Laura Mvula.

The quartet can also be accompanied by specially created iconic London and British visuals, which can be projected behind the group and have the option of being mixed live by a VJ.
