The Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets deliver a walkabout and theatrical performance inspired by ancient mythologies, folklore, and stories from the island of Ibiza. The rich mythology of Ibiza includes traces from Phoenician, Roman, Moorish, and Catalan cultures, which is reflected in both the costumes and the performances. Their objective is to enchant and animate through simple yet captivating visual performances.

The walkabout act features giant puppets crafted from recycled materials using traditional craft techniques. These incredible large mythical creatures represent the goddess Tanit, the goddess Demeter, and two podenco hounds.

The Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets have collaborated with Ritual Ibiza, creating large-scale puppets for their club night Woomoon. These giant puppets have also featured in the grand annual celebrations of the Fiestas of San Joan and have been booked for a diverse range of private and public events.

This walkabout act was created by a British-born puppetry enthusiast who previously lived in Devon and completed her BA (Hons) Puppetry degree at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She brings a wealth of experience in creating large-scale puppetry and visual theatre pieces for festivals, theatre performances, and events in the UK.
