Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets

The stunning Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets are a captivating walkabout act guaranteed to leave a long lasting impression on your guests. The four amazing giant puppets tower any crowd and really stand out. They can adapt and fit into many event themes and bring a bit of mythical history to life.

The Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets deliver a walkabout and theatrical performance inspired by ancient mythologies, folklore and stories of the island of Ibiza. The multi-layered mythology of Ibiza has traces Phoenician, Roman, Moorish and Catalan cultures amongst several others and this is reflected in both the costumes and the performances. Their aim is to enchant and animate through simple visual performances.

The walkabout act features giant puppets made from recycled materials using traditional craft processes. These incredible large mythical beasts are the goddess Tanit, the goddess Demeter, and two podenco hounds. 

The Giant Ibizan Folklore Puppets have collaborated with Ritual Ibiza creating large scale puppets, and more, for their clubnight Woomoon. The giant puppets have also featured in the huge annual celebrations of the Fiestas of San Joan, and booked for diverse range private and public events. 

The walkabout act has been created by a British-born, formerly Devon-based, puppetry enthusiast who completed her BA (Hons) Puppetry degree at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has lots of experience creating large scale puppetry and visual theatre pieces for festivals, theatre performances and events in the UK.
