Japanese Drummers Tokyo
These Japanese Drummers form a tribal groove orchestra, seamlessly merging beats from the East and West, tradition and pop. Whether performing at major World and Roots, Rock and Pop, or alternative Music and Culture festivals, in live clubs, classic theaters, concert halls, or techno events, they enthrall audiences with their music that moves between trance and ecstasy.
Comprising seven female and four male drummers, the group captivates with original grooves created using Japanese Taiko drums. On stage, these 11 musicians produce an awe-inspiring musical spectacle with almost 40 drums. Musically, they are among the most sophisticated percussion groups of today.
Their cosmic beats and uniquely complex poly-rhythms are so primal that they resonate with all known music styles, uniting people of all ages, ethnicities, social backgrounds, and musical tastes.
These talented Japanese Drummers are highly respected in traditional Taiko circles. They have performed with distinguished artists such as Korea’s Kim Duk-soo of SamulNori, West Africa’s djembe player Mamady Keita, and Seiichi Tanaka of the San Francisco Taiko Ensemble.
They have played at the renowned WOMAD Festival and given concerts in Belgrade, Sarajevo, and Zagreb, with the Zagreb concert also broadcasted live nationwide. Additionally, the drummers have performed live without playback on Germany's major national TV station ZDF, and Coca Cola used their tracks Fu-Zing and Rai-Zing for their TV commercial campaign in Japan.
Offering audiences a rich cultural experience, their music embodies the diversity and interaction of various musical styles.
