In the classic film ‘Back To The Future’, Doc creates a sequence beginning with an alarm clock and ending with feeding his dog Einstein. This intricate setup is a prime example of a Rude Goldberg Device.
Teams will be tasked with designing their own device for a chosen purpose, using wheels, gears, paper runs, marble runs, handles, cups, rods, dominoes, buckets, boots, paddles, arms, and much more to complicate the simplest tasks—like turning on a toaster. The winning team will be the one that comes closest to achieving their goal before the device fails!
