In the classic film ‘Back to the Future,’ Doc sets up a sequence that starts with an alarm clock going off and ends with feeding Einstein his dog. The device that makes this chain of events happen is the Rube Goldberg Device.
Your teams will be challenged to create such a device for a purpose of their choosing. They can use wheels, gears, paper runs, marble runs, handles, cups, rods, dominoes, buckets, boots, paddles, arms, and much more to make the simplest of tasks—like turning on a toaster—extraordinarily complicated. The winning team will be the one that gets the closest to their goal before something goes wrong!
