This is a one-of—a-kind team building activity inspired by Rude Goldberg - a Pultzer Prize-winning cartoonist, sculptor and author, best known for his inventions in his early years as an engineer. His inventions include the Rude Golberg Device - you’ll recognise one when you see one even if you don’t know its name!
In the classic film ‘Back To The Future’, Doc sets up a sequence which starts with an alarm clock going off and ends with feeding Einstein his dog - the device that allows the sequence of events to happen within this set up is the Rude Goldberg Device.
Your teams will be challenged to make such a device for a purpose of their choosing, they can use wheels, gears, paper runs, marble runs, handles, cups, rods, dominoes, buckets, boots, paddles, arms and much more to make the simplest of tasks - like turning the toaster on - extraordinarily complicated. The winning team will be the one that manages to get the closest to their goal before something goes wrong!
