Charlie Martin - Racing Driver

Charlie Martin is a professional racing driver and passionate LGBTQ+ activist. Since coming out in 2018, Charlie has been using social media and her position in the motorsports arena to improve transgender acceptance across the world and is regularly interviewed on national news to speak about LGBTQ+ inclusion within sport.

A talented and passionate driver, she finished 2nd in the North American Lamborghini Cup and made history as the first transgender driver to complete the gruelling Nürburgring 24-hour race. Her success in motorsport though has not come easily, starting out with just £1,500 saved from a summer job after university, Charlie has had to overcome many challenges to compete and succeed in the sport as her true self and has relied on her positive outlook, can-do attitude and refusal to give up on her dreams. Charlie was named the first Stonewall Sports Champion by Europe’s leading LGBTQ+ charity, is an ambassador for Athlete Ally and Racing Pride and also works as a public speaker to assist companies in their goals to support inclusion in the workplace. As an experienced public speaker, Charlie talks honestly about the challenges she has faced overcoming adversity both in her personal and professional life and transitioning in a hyper-masculine sport.

Boasting top clients such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, O2, Adidas, AON and BMW, to name just a few, she has really been making waves in the corporate world.

Charlie has been nominated for many awards and featured in the Pride Power list, OUT Magazine 100 and Attitude 101, as well as in the Vogue 25, British Vogue's celebration of inspiring women that are shaping the world!
