All female Jazz Band

This ensemble is Singapore’s freshest and leading all-female modern jazz group, showcasing a diverse collaboration of musical talents and artistic visions. In their journey of finding their unique voice, the group draws inspiration from the bold, progressive, and dynamic nature of its members.

Consisting of Sharon, Wendy, Yap Shu Mei, Melissa, and Audrey, these five musicians were initially brought together for the Singapore Wine & Jazz Festival 2010 at Fraser’s Robertson Walk. After just a few rehearsals, it became clear that a special musical chemistry was developing.

Jazz enthusiasts, experienced musicians, and casual listeners all gave resounding approval to the group's playful, inventive, and organic debut performance on July 2, 2010.

Soon after, on July 27, 2010, they were featured in an interview on Channel News Asia’s Prime Time Morning, where they performed an original piece, “In-You-It”.

August 26, 2011, marked a significant milestone for the band as they held their debut ticketed event to a sold-out audience at the Esplanade Recital Studio. “D.U.I. -- Dreaming under The Influence” featured original compositions and covers seamlessly woven into a 5-part improvised suite. The dynamic music and captivating multimedia visuals transported the enthralled audience into a shared dream-like experience.

Beyond the notable “all-female” appeal, it is the distinct musical and life journeys of each member that create a revitalized sound and approach to jazz, extending beyond traditional and standard offerings in the market.
