Arabic Band Stockholm

Founded in 2008, our Stockholm-based Arabic Band is an award-winning group made up of some of Sweden’s most talented and prominent musicians from the folk and world music scenes.

Under the leadership of the captivating Iraqi-Egyptian singer Nadin, who escaped the war in Iraq for Sweden in 2001, the band’s music and lyrics tell her story of survival, exile, life, and rebirth.

Touring worldwide, the Arabic Band has shared their original compositions with audiences in Baghdad, Cairo, Paris, Sweden, and many other locations. Their music is heavily influenced by diverse styles including Middle Eastern and Nordic Folk and Traditional music, Jazz, Persian, and Latin, creating the band's distinctive sound.

Blending a distinctive groove with tenderness, this skilled ensemble was nominated and awarded 2014’s “Best Crossover Act” at the “Swedish World Music Awards.”
