This Japanese Drumming Group is an independent entity based in Singapore. It has its own studio to offer platforms and engages with the Singapore community through its rich Japanese cultural activities.
Japanese Drumming Group performs Taiko and various mask dances, including Shishimai/Japanese lion dance, Okame, Hyotokko, Berodashi, Owarai, Ichimonji, Kitsune, and Miko.
Additionally, they collaborate with partners to jointly perform at events, offering Japanese Traditional Dance, Japanese Folk Dance, ikebana groups, origami groups, and Japanese Tea Ceremony.
Throughout the years, the drummers have expanded their network beyond Singapore to Malaysia and Japan, the origin of these drumming traditions. Many professionals have been invited to Singapore to perform, conduct lectures and workshops, and participate in collaborative performances.
Japanese Drumming Group also coordinates exchange programs between Singapore and Japan. For example, a Taiko group from Japan performs concerts at various venues and conducts home-stay programs in Singapore.
The drummers can offer workshops for various events, including team building and networking, as well as dramatic and professional performances in a variety of traditional drumming styles. They promise to captivate audiences with a dynamic display of traditional and modern Japanese taiko drums.
