Max Calderan
The explorer Max Calderan, born in Italy, holds 14 world-first records for extreme desert explorations. In February 2020, he crossed 1,100km of the Empty Quarter (Rub Al Khali) of Saudi Arabia, the largest sand desert in the world. It had never been crossed on foot or by car by anyone before him, a place filled with mystery, legend, and undiscovered secrets. This led to the creation of the Calderan Line, now marked on the geographical maps of the Arabian Peninsula and recognized by Google Maps as a Historical Landmark.
Max is fluent in both English and Italian.
He has a strong background in extreme climbing and skiing, excelling in over 15 sports disciplines. His accomplishments include winning a gold medal in the national military Pentathlon and receiving the Medal for Civil Valor from President Francesco Cossiga. In 2015, the United Nations appointed him as an ambassador for the CACP project, focused on protecting the Asian cheetah.
Max has starred in numerous documentaries, including 'Beyond the Limit' and 'Son of The Desert,' which details his 250 km coast-to-coast journey in the Sinai Peninsula within 48 hours while observing fasting during Ramadan.
Max is now an accredited expert on climate change and desertification.
His extensive experience, which includes thousands of meetings, seminars, congresses, workshops, and programs related to the environment, education, culture, motivational coaching, and health, offers valuable insights and best practices for building and transforming cultures toward a better future vision of the world and its people.
Regreening - Sustainability - Climate Change - Desertification
Max Calderan has always been fascinated by how different cultures live, how institutions function in various settings, and how both adapt to environmental changes. Over the past decade, he has focused on the relationship between climate change, sustainable development, and urbanity, applying these ideas to climate impacts, environmental equity, individual behavior, learning methods, communication, and planning policy and practice in international and intercultural comparisons.
Max Calderan is not just a legendary desert explorer; he is also an expert in desertification, climate change, sustainability, and regreening. His most critical skill is providing value to all his contacts, including experts, universities, individuals, bedouins, major construction companies, renewable energy firms, and businesses related to audit, assurance, consulting, risk, and financial advisory.
Max shares a clear to-do list with professionals. He believes the best solution is to create a platform for sharing high-level concepts and visions, and he excels in managing such interactions.
He is committed to finding the right technology to integrate with the environment and the people living there. Solutions must adapt to the continuously changing future environment. Max co-owns a laboratory at the University of Florence with a geneticist. They conduct environmental analysis, laboratory certification, genetic analysis, and microbiome intestine bacteria analysis.
