Max Calderan
The explorer Max Calderan was born in Italy and holds 14 world-first records for extreme desert explorations. In February 2020, he crossed 1,100km of the Empty Quarter (Rub Al Khali) of Saudi Arabia, the largest sand desert in the world. It had never been crossed on foot or by car by anyone before him, a place shrouded in mystery, legend, and secrets never revealed. Due to this, the Calderan Line was created and added to the geographical maps of the Arabian Peninsula, certified by Google Maps as a Historical Landmark.
Max is bilingual and fluent in English and Italian.
He has a strong sports background in extreme climbing and skiing, excelling in over 15 sports disciplines. His achievements include winning a gold medal in the national military Pentathlon and the Medal for Civil Valor, awarded by President Francesco Cossiga. In 2015, the United Nations appointed him as an ambassador for the CACP project to safeguard the Asian cheetah.
He has starred in numerous documentaries, including 'Beyond the Limit' and 'Son of The Desert,' which describes his coast-to-coast journey in the Sinai Peninsula, 250 km in 48 hours, while fasting during Arab Ramadan.
Max is now a recognized expert on climate change and desertification.
His vast experience from thousands of meetings, seminars, congresses, workshops, and programs related to the environment, education, culture, motivational coaching, and health adds significant value in sharing insights and best practices for a better future vision for the world and its people.
Regreening - Sustainability - Climate Change - Desertification
Max Calderan has always been interested in how people of different cultures live, how institutions operate in various settings, and how both adapt to environmental changes. In the past decade, he has focused on the relationship between climate change, sustainable development, and urbanity, applying these to climate change impacts, environmental equity, individual behavior, learning methods, communication, and planning policies in international and intercultural contexts.
Max Calderan is not just a legendary desert explorer; professionally, he is an expert in desertification, climate change, sustainability, and regreening. His most crucial skill is adding value to all his contacts, including experts, universities, individuals, Bedouins, major construction companies, renewable energy firms, audit and assurance companies, consulting firms, risk and financial advisory entities, and risk management companies.
Max has a clear to-do list that he shares with professionals. His best solution is to create a platform for sharing high-level concepts and visions, and he effectively manages such interactions.
He believes in finding the right technology that integrates with the environment and the people living there. The solution must adapt continuously to future environmental changes. Max co-owns a laboratory at the University of Florence with a geneticist. They conduct environmental analysis, laboratory certification, genetic analysis, and microbiome intestinal bacteria analysis.
