Mezzo Soprano Alison
Illuminating the stage with every performance, Mezzo Soprano Alison is a graduate of the Royal College of Music’s Opera course and a winner of the AsLiCo Young European Opera Singers’ Competition.
A multi-award-winning performer, she has been involved in numerous successful performances, becoming a finalist for the Kathleen Ferrier Award and receiving several scholarships from the Peter Moores music foundation, Ian Fleming Award, and Sacher Scholarship.
Some of her major musical projects include singing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia, the London Mozart Players, the English Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the OSJ, and the Halle Orchestra. These performances were also broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and released on CD.
Alison has performed most of the standard oratorio repertoire for mezzo across the country, in venues ranging from parish churches to concert halls and cathedrals. Her frequently performed repertoire includes Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius, Verdi Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Handel's Messiah.
She has performed the Angel in Gerontius from Aberdeen to Exeter and considers it one of her favorite works. She also has a passion for Bach and has sung both the St John and St Matthew Passions, the Christmas Oratorio, and the B Minor Mass on multiple occasions.
Alison has a deep appreciation for classic musical theatre, encompassing works by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Noel Coward. She delights in adapting her voice to suit this genre and achieved great success at Cadogan Hall when she performed as a guest soloist in a concert dedicated entirely to Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Mezzo Soprano Alison is one of those performers who not only illuminates the stage with her presence but also brings infectious enthusiasm to any event.
