Sand Artist Alex

Sand Art is a captivating art form that involves drawing on an underlit translucent surface covered with sand. The drawn images are captured from above and projected onto a large screen. Through meticulous preparation, Alex creates animations, seamlessly transforming one image into another to narrate a story.

Alex performs with both hands, ensuring swift transitions that keep the audience engaged in the story. For custom acts, a briefing is required 4 weeks prior to the event. Alex invests around 40 hours in adapting, crafting, and rehearsing the act to fit the designated time frame.

Alex can work with your storyboard and tailor the act for Sand Art. However, the event theme and client's name are usually sufficient to create a compelling performance. The Sand Art table features RGB lighting, allowing the artist to adjust the illumination color to match the audience’s mood. The table is easy to transport, comprising a crate measuring 1.4 x 0.9 x 0.4 meters and foldable poles for camera setup. For larger events, cameras can also be suspended from the stage construction.

The total weight of the setup is approximately 45 kg and includes glass and lighting elements, so careful handling is needed. The act requires a stage space of 1.5 x 1.5 meters (wxd), a projection screen for other projections during the event, and a projector and camera.
