Victorian Punch And Judy Show
Our traditional Victorian Punch and Judy Show is a timeless form of entertainment, enjoyed by British vacationers at seaside resorts since the 1800s. From Victorian streets to early 20th-century coastal areas, this exceptional Punch and Judy show revives that enchanting family-oriented performance that has delighted children for generations.
The Victorian Punch and Judy Show features authentic antique Victorian puppets and theatres originally used to entertain children on the east coast beaches from 1890 to 1940. These traditional puppets were meticulously hand-carved in the late 1800s.
The largest theatre available stands at 9 feet tall, with a proscenium crafted and painted by Roseila, one of the greatest Victorian showmen. A second, smaller theatre was created by Punch and Judy icon Quisto and previously owned by the legendary entertainer Percy Press, who used it throughout his illustrious career.
No other current Punch and Judy show is performed using genuine antique artifacts, making this one of the few shows of its kind in the world.
Our Traditional Punch and Judy Show is available for hire at special events, themed days, schools, historical occasions, Victorian-themed events, seaside resorts, and much more. It has been showcased at the V&A Museum, Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, Sotheby's, and on BBC Television.
