The act requires a volunteer from the audience, who comes onstage, selects a card from the dark during a riffle without revealing which one he or she has chosen. The magician cannot possibly know which one it is - he can’t see the deck, and the audience member doesn’t say it or even touch it!

The audience member is then given a surface to wear for the knife to penetrate, and handed the deck of cards. Standing at an impressive distance, the knife-thrower commands the volunteer to throw the deck of cards into the air. As he or she does so, the knife-thrower throws his knife at the volunteer. On its trajectory, audiences witness it puncture a card mid-air and stick into the protective surface on the volunteer’s stomach. 

Unbelievably, the card that has been pierced is the one selected by the audience member. 

There are many elements that make this trick impressive. Firstly, it is clearly not a trick, as your eyes detect the flight of the knife and its contact with the card in the air. Secondly, the larger the distance between the knife-thrower and the volunteer, the more impressive it is (which is something to take into consideration when booking this act!).
