Bavarian Folklore Munich
The Bavarian Folklore group, based in Munich, is comprised of 4-8 young women dressed in traditional Bavarian dirndls who entertain through dance, singing, yodeling, and playing cowbells. Their energetic and charming performances have taken them to locations all over Europe, Kenya, New Zealand, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Canada, Beijing, Jakarta, and several states across the US.
The group's innovative, fast-paced, and modern dance style is perfect for beer festivals, Oktoberfest, German-themed events, and parties that demand high-energy folk entertainment!
They have performed in Munich during the Olympiad, conventions in Frankfurt and Hannover, at the world-renowned Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen and the Tivoli in Sweden, along with a Command Performance for the Swedish Royal Family. For the past 10 years, the show troupe has been a staple at the Oktoberfest in Kitchener, Canada, as well as at "Old Munich" in Montreal, Canada.
In recent years, the troupe has included the "Bayer" (the French Can-Can) in their routine. Thanks to their colorful and ethnic Bavarian costumes, this addition has resonated well with audiences and grown in popularity.
Their program features various traditional Bavarian dances such as the bench dance, the lumberjack dance, and the duck dance, along with a lot of Bavarian and international cowbell playing. It also includes the "wooden laughter" of their Cirkus Renz on the xylophone, various yodeling styles, and singing, all performed by talented young women from Munich.
