Chicago Classic Jazz Band
This Chicago-based seven-piece jazz band showcases the classic styles of the 1920s and 1930s and is renowned as one of the finest custodians of authentic Chicago jazz. Founded in 2010 by string bass player Beau, its members include Andy (cornet), John (reeds), Dave (trombone), Jake (banjo and guitar), Paul (piano), and Alex (drums).
The repertoire these young musicians perform comes from their grandparents’ golden era, delivering the music of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jelly Roll Morton, and King Oliver with energy and dynamic dance rhythms.
Their robust swing has made them a beloved choice for both dancers and listeners. The band has frequently performed for prominent swing dance groups in Chicago and is rapidly gaining acclaim throughout the Midwest. Both listeners and dancers will find fresh and exhilarating renditions of familiar and obscure songs in their performances.
