Julian graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in 1991 with distinction in both performance and teaching, specializing in Bassoon. Soon after, he was offered a teaching position with Sandwell MBA and a part-time role at Cheltenham Boys College.

During this period, he performed in various pit orchestras for musicals and shows, including the Royal Shakespeare Company. Julian also had a deep passion for the Saxophone, and in 1993, upon hearing Kenny G for the first time, he became captivated by the instrument, particularly the soprano saxophone. Julian formed a band around himself, which gained popularity in the Midlands, performing at restaurants and prestigious corporate events by invitation.

Julian’s musical style can be described as easy listening “Crossover Classical/Pop/Smooth Jazz,” with a significant influence from the vocal group “Il Divo.”

Combining his saxophone performance with teaching clarinet and saxophone, Julian established a successful career as a musician and educator. After producing a couple of self-financed albums with producer and arranger Ty Unwin, a track called "Silver" was featured on the multi-platinum compilation album Classic Chillout series by Sony in 2001. This led to more commissions for Julian over the next two years.

After struggling for further significant success in the music industry over six years, Julian decided to participate in BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT in 2009, where he achieved the second runner-up position with nearly 700,000 public votes and millions of YouTube views.

A particularly memorable moment on the show for Julian was when the producers arranged for him to perform with his idol Kenny G at the Royal Albert Hall. Kenny G presented Julian with his own signature model saxophone as a good luck gift.

Since then, Julian has toured many arenas and theaters, recorded with various Classical Stars including Julian Lloyd Webber and Paul Potts on the Classical Relief for Haiti Charity Single 'The Prayer'. He has performed for Prince Charles at Clarence House, was invited to play for the Prime Minister, and has participated in many other prestigious charity events including ARK, THE RED CROSS, and RAYS OF SUNSHINE.
