Born in Guangzhou, China, into a restaurant and grocery family, Chef Yan developed a passion for cooking at a young age. He trained as an apprentice in a popular restaurant in Hong Kong and further advanced his skills at the Overseas Institute of Cookery in Hong Kong and later in the USA.
