This unique, compassionate crossover singer, elevates each audience, as she performs songs from a wide variety of genres; Musical Theatre show tunes, popular Jazz standards and classically voiced Pop hits predominantly. Gemma lives & acts each song with the greatest emotions, which grasp any soul.
Gemma says "I do not try to sound like everyone else, otherwise what would there be to appreciate of a voice? I endeavour to make Classical music more accessible, and popular music more beautiful. I create my own/more unique arrangements, to appeal to a wider population. My greatest influences are the likes of Il Divo, Marita Solberg and Andre Rieu, to name a few"
Born in the North West of England, to a music loving family, Gemma made her first public appearance at the age of just three years, singing the popular classic hit 'You Are My Sunshine' on stage at The Metro Centre, Newcastle. She began her professional vocal tuition at the age of ten, and continued to develop her repertoire and vocal techniques with the head of Opera and Vocal Studies at The Royal Northern College Of Music. After completing her general academic studies, Gemma went on to gain further qualifications in Music, Dance, Acting, Biology and German. Current study of Italian continues daily, with also Spanish, acting & choreography in any free time and she can now speak 6 languages.
Having worked with great musicians, orchestras and radio stations, in 2011 Gemma gained her first major opportunity to sing at The Bolton Christmas Lights Switch-on, as part of a line up which included Mcfly, X Factor finalists and the Bolton Wanderers football team. This also led to shows at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Opera House, The Albert Halls, King Georges Hall and 53 Degrees. More over, Gemma received interest from Universal Records and is currently recording with her 4-octave singing range on various new projects, in addition to her live performances in London's West End, international corporate events and theatres over coming months. Other performance highlights include Once Great George Street, various Celebrity Cruises and Coworth Park Estate.
Today, Gemma entertains spectators at a whole host of venues; International corporate events, theatres, elite holiday resorts, on board cruises, concert halls, weddings, private events, public events, mayors' dinners, annual parties, golf clubs, hotels and restaurants to name a few.
Putting her heart and soul into her music career, Gemma lives to entertain. Along with classical training, Gemma studies dance, media/business/social networking and expands her bilingual skills and fan base daily. With her drive & ambition, Gemma dedicates all her time into achieving her dreams and elevating audiences.
