A band to get excited about Soul Band: Memphis is one band that will certainly get your party started. The 8 piece group showcases a distinctive sound and style inspired by such artists as Earth, Wind and Fire, Otis Redding, Al Green, and Aretha Franklin. The soul band features a solid rhythm section, fiery horns and dynamic male and female vocalists. Their style displays the rich musical legacy of the 1960s and 1970s mixed with currently popular classic soul and r&b styles. Soul Band: Memphis also performs popular standards from Frank Sinatra to Motown to current dance music to round out its musical variety.
Some of the players include Brad Mezei, Fredrick Nichelson, Robert Lacroix, and vocalists Stefani Turner, and Tim Jones. All are veterans of the blues and jazz scene in Texas and the southwest. Nichelson grew up in the shadows of several STAX record artists and their contemporaries in Memphis.
The band has performed at events such as Taste of Dallas, Dallas Mavericks Games, and venues like Martini Park, Sulivan Ringside, Glass Cactus, and many private celebrations.
