Russian Gypsy Music
This Münster-based Russian gypsy band was founded in early 2010 and consists of top-tier artists who blend a fiery spirit with tender melancholy.
The four band members - bassist Joe, singer Larissa, violinist and dancer Sabina, and guitarist and mandolinist Maxim - are musical personalities with wide and varied experience. Their gypsy songs speak of an irrepressible love for life, freedom, melancholy, and the soulful depth of the Russian Roma and the German Sinti. The lyrics are partly in Russian and partly in Romany - a gypsy language that originated from Sanskrit.
The band's stirring music is characterized by a deep love of Russian gypsy music and serves as a symbol of the centuries-old, enduring sense of community among all living gypsy families.
