Gypsy Jazz Folk Band

Our fantastic gypsy jazz band and ethnic music band play an eclectic mix of folk music, Romanian gypsy music, and folk music. With a distinctive sound and look, they are a fantastic addition to any event.

This Cape Town-based gypsy jazz band is perfect if you’re looking for that 'special something' to create a beautiful and unforgettable backdrop for your event. Whether it's for weddings, corporate events, private parties, or festivals, our ethnic music band brings to life the melodies of the Al-Andalus mountains, the rhythms of the Middle East, and dance from the depths of the Sahara.

Their repertoire includes beautifully composed original pieces, as well as unique renditions of traditional folk music from around the world. Drawing influences from Beirut, Balkan Beat Box, and Yemen Blue, they perform Andalusian folk songs, Romanian gypsy music, and Kletzmer and Arabic music with vocals in Spanish and Roma. Performing as a 6-piece gypsy jazz band of multi-instrumentalists, they can adjust their lineup to include any of the following instruments: saxophone, trumpet, saw, hulusi, mandolin, guitar, accordion, double bass, darbuka, daf, riq, cajón, zills, and castanets.

If your event requires a little something extra, one of the band members is a professional belly dancer and can perform a traditional fusion belly dance alongside the band. As the founder of a well-established belly dance company, a belly dance duo or group can also be booked to perform in accompaniment with our gypsy jazz band.

Regular performers at Rocking The Daisies, Cape Town World Music Festival, and National Arts Festival, they are experienced performers with a strong local and international following. Charismatic performers and virtuoso musicians, they will bring a regal and celebratory feel to your event.
