Highland Bagpiper
With over 30 years of experience playing the bagpipes across every continent, Jim sees himself as a seasoned piper. Originally from Alloa, Central Scotland, he joined the Army at sixteen and received training at the Army School of Bagpipe Music in Bridge of Don Aberdeen. Later, he continued his studies at the Army School of Piping in Edinburgh Castle. Jim served with The 1st Battalion The Argyll And Sutherland Highlanders.
Jim spent many years in London, where he was named Pipe Major of the British Airways Pipe Band. His piping career has taken him from Scotland to England, the USA, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Eire, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Bermuda, Antigua, Panama, Honduras, Zambia, Greece, France, Italy, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, and the Falkland Islands.
He has played for members of the Royal Family, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as well as for both British and Australian Prime Ministers.
