Chinese people have been playing drums at celebrations for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese drums are often painted red, a color associated with power and good luck in Chinese culture.
These Traditional Chinese Drummers offer a unique performance that combines drumming with traditional Chinese dancing and Bian Lian (aka "Face-Changing," an ancient Chinese dramatic art that is part of the larger Sichuan opera). The all-female drumming group was founded in 2008 and has performed at many celebratory events in Mainland China, Macau, and Hong Kong.
