Having played many instruments from a young age, our accordionist started with the piano, developing his right-hand technique and his love of songs and songwriting. Inspired by the masters of gypsy jazz like Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and Tony Murena, he picked up one of the genre's staple instruments: the accordion.

With bass, chords, and melody, the accordion is an extraordinarily versatile (yet notoriously difficult) instrument, hugely evocative of the times and places it's associated with. For generations, it has conjured images of a romantic and classical world, Parisian cafés, the energetic ballads of Berlin, traditional Jewish, gypsy, and broadly central European culture.

Our player captures all the atmosphere and gentility of this antiquated world, as well as its excitement and romanticism. Needing nothing more than his instrument to play, but also able to offer amplification equipment, he can perform in any space.
