Ed Stafford made history by becoming the first man to walk the entire length of the Amazon River. His incredible journey took two and a half years and was considered impossible. As explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes said, "Truly extraordinary... in the top league of expeditions past and present."

Ed Stafford is dedicated to encouraging others. He is upfront and genuine about the challenges he faced in the Amazon, including alligators, snakes, severe floods, electric eels, jaguars, and the hostility of local tribes faced with a tall foreign man in their midst. Ed's story offers powerful lessons about overcoming seemingly impossible challenges, resilience, risk-taking, teamwork, respect for other cultures and the environment, and staying positive during tough times. His delivery ensures that messages about achieving success despite adversity, the determination to meet targets, and enduring hardships are shared in a highly entertaining manner with a good dose of self-deprecating humor.

Ed filmed and blogged about his expedition from the jungle, engaging followers through social media during his long journey. Upon his return, his footage was turned into a Discovery Channel documentary sold to over 100 countries. His acclaimed book, "Walking the Amazon," has been translated into Mandarin, Ukrainian, Polish, and Spanish, and published in the USA. In the book, Ed details his journey: "It was over nine million-odd steps; over 200,000 mosquito and ant bites; over 8,000 kilometers walked over 860 days, 733 of them with Cho [Gadiel 'Cho' Sanchez Rivera], about 600 wasp stings; a dozen or so scorpion stings; 10 HD video cameras; six pairs of boots; three GPSs and one Guinness World Record."

News of Ed's success against all odds captured the world's imagination: his story was featured in over 900 articles and on news channels worldwide. Among many accolades, Ed was named "Britain's most intrepid hero since Scott of the Antarctic" (Daily Mail) and "A true hero" (The Times).

The motivational Ed Stafford received the title of European Adventurer of the Year in 2011. The Guinness World Records officially recognized his achievement, and Sir Ranulph Fiennes and the Transglobe Expedition Trust awarded him for outstanding bravery.

Following his epic Amazon walk, new challenges and opportunities arose. Ed filmed himself surviving on an uninhabited island for 60 days—a demanding project testing him in many unexpected ways. The resulting series, "Naked and Marooned with Ed Stafford," aired globally on Discovery Channel in 2013, and Ed's book about his experiences was published the following year. He continues to work on acclaimed TV projects: his survival series "Marooned" aired worldwide on Discovery in 2014 and 2015, with a second series warmly received by his fans in 2016.

In each episode of "Marooned," Ed is left alone in remote, harsh environments for ten days, learning to survive (and attempting to thrive) while filming the adventure himself. In 2015, Discovery Channel aired a new acclaimed series, "Into The Unknown," where Ed explored remote locations worldwide, investigating unexplained markings revealed through satellite images. Ed remains engaged in exciting and challenging projects, such as helping climbing legend Joe Simpson retrace his father's WWII footsteps in a two-part TV series on Burma’s Secret Jungle War, aired on the BBC in May 2016.

In his next series for Discovery, "Left for Dead" (2017), Ed escaped some of the planet's most extreme environments: subtropical forests, frozen tundra, and desolate mountains. With no survival kit, Ed had to rely on his instincts to escape the wilderness in 10 days. Ed continues to work on thrilling projects. In "First Man Out," Ed challenges ultra-fit elites from around the world to survive in remote locations and race to an agreed exit point across tough terrains. "First Man Out" was a massive hit for Discovery, with a second series set to air in 2020.

Ed was thrilled to participate in "60 Days on the Streets," a three-part documentary for Channel 4 that aired in 2019. Ed’s vivid account of sleeping rough (and filming the experience) on Britain’s streets in Manchester, London, and Glasgow humanized the homeless and helped share their stories.

Ed aims to use his adventures to inspire adults and kids to broaden their horizons and believe they can achieve much more.

Ed Stafford has given keynote talks in New York, London, Sydney, Istanbul, Barcelona, Geneva, and many other cities worldwide. He is quickly becoming the go-to inspirational adventure speaker. He is straightforward and authentic, imparting the lessons he learned during his epic journey.
