Catherine Spencer
International rugby star Catherine was capped 63 times for England and captained the team for three years. She participated in eight Six Nations matches and won six of them; she has scored for her country 18 times. She led England to the World Cup in 2010, and even though the team lost, her leadership qualities received media attention.
Catherine is Patron of the Tag Rugby Trust charity; the organization works across developing countries to “Build futures through rugby”.
Her media engagements include Sky Sports and the BBC; in 2017, she provided commentary for the Women’s Rugby World Cup with ITV. Catherine has also written for the Independent on Sunday, the Sunday Times, and the Guardian, along with regular columns for the weekly Rugby Paper.
As a former team captain, Catherine can offer insights into developing leadership skills in a team setting. Her talks are marked by honesty, sharing experiences in starting a new business and dealing with potential failures. She earned her CIPD HR Management level 5 qualification and received an Honorary Doctorate from Canterbury Christchurch University.
