New Orleans Brass Band

Formed in 2008 out of a desire to play music that appealed to both feet and ears, this unique brass band features trumpets, trombones, saxes, sousaphone, and marching percussion. Based in East London, the band is fully acoustic yet capable of blowing the roof off any venue.

The brass band's members have incredibly diverse musical backgrounds, ranging from cutting-edge jazz groups to the Royal Opera House, and from Jarvis Cocker to major international orchestras.

This wide range of musical talent is clearly showcased in their eclectic repertoire. They dig into funk, hip-hop, and rock, tossing in some Balkan brass, ska, and contemporary jazz for good measure.

The band has played sold-out headline shows at the Jazz Café (including an unforgettable impromptu jam with Amy Winehouse), Scala, The Garage, Hootenanny, and many more top London venues; they've supported U.S. brass megastars the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and celebrated British musician Jamie Cullum at the Roundhouse; headlined shows at the Durham International Brass Festival and Manchester International Jazz Festival; and toured Kosovo, Slovenia, Montenegro, Holland, Germany, and Ireland, as well as performing at the London Olympics closing ceremony.

Adding to that, the band stays true to its roots by bringing the tradition of mobile marching bands into the 21st century. So you know every gig is going to be unique. No matter where or what they’re playing, you can count on one thing: this is high-energy, feel-good music that’ll make you want to move your feet.
