Lily String Quartet

Lily String Quartet is a vibrant chamber ensemble known for its excellence. Formed in 2005, this Canadian quartet is acclaimed by audiences and critics as one of the top ensembles in Western Canada. The bilingual quartet consists of Elisa, Diane, Patricia, and Andrea, all of whom are among the top tier of Canadian chamber musicians.

Whether from the Alberta plains, the city life of Calgary, or the beauty of Québec City, these women have blended their diverse experiences to create a unified and captivating sound. Each member of String Quartet Canada has received training at North America's premier universities and conservatories, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience that enriches the ensemble.

The String Quartet performs regularly in Calgary and beyond. The 2013/14 season included a recital for the Instrumental Society of Calgary, collaborations with piano, bass, and harp, as well as concerts in Alberta and BC. Their past concerts have featured performances for CBC, Sled Island Festival, Lake Louise "Ice Magic" Festival, The Banff Centre, One Yellow Rabbit Theatre's High Performance Rodeo, and New Works Calgary.

Collaboration is a hallmark of their work; the group members have performed with a jazz trio, various Calgary-area choirs, music programs, schools, indie-rock bands, folk performers, and an accordion player, just to name a few.

They were invited to seminars at Juilliard School and Stanford University and performed in and helped develop an original musical with folk artist Lullaby Baxter. The group toured Alberta with the Hutchinson Andrew Trio in the spring of 2013, Eastern Canada in the fall of 2012, and Western Canada in 2008. String Quartet Canada has performed in both concerts and educational outreach programs in seven out of ten Canadian provinces.
