Vintage Jazz Vocalist Ali

Awarded Best Jazz Vocalist in Scotland 2013' by the Scottish Jazz Federation, Ali has earned a solid reputation as the ‘go to’ vocalist for authentic vintage jazz and blues. Having lived in the USA for 16 years, and travelled the country performing, she has amassed an enviable collection of Jazz standards, along with some rare old Southern Blues - songs that are rarely heard outside of the Crescent City of New Orleans itself.

Her energetic performances are sensitive and passionate offering up fresh interpretations while remaining true to the to the meaning behind the songs. Performing as a soloist or alongside a band, her repertoire features a lively mixture of 1920’s to 1950’s jazz featuring well-known standards and rare old forgotten gems from early Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Fats Waller, Annette Hanshaw and Ethel Waters. With constant comparisons to June Christy and Peggy Lee, Ali’s authentic performances will create an ambiance of sophistication and class at your event.
