Katie Piper
Katie Piper is a popular inspirational speaker, well-known television presenter, charity campaigner and best-selling international author. Many will be familiar with her incredible story which she has shared in a film for the Cutting Edge strand on Channel 4 called ‘Katie: My Beautiful Face’. This film was watched by over 3.5 million viewers and nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA Television Awards in 2010.
Over a decade ago, Katie set up her charity 'The Katie Piper Foundation', in order to help individuals with scars and burns reconnect with their communities. The foundation's vision is to create a world where a person's scars do not limit their sense of well-being or social inclusion. Katie has received the support of many famous celebrities including Simon Cowell, who is a patron and continues to be actively involved in the cause. In the summer of 2019, the charity reached its goal of opening a rehabilitation centre in the UK to offer other burn survivors the innovative treatments that Katie received in France.
In addition to her charity commitments, Katie makes regular television and radio appearances across multiple networks. She is a popular panellist on ITV1’s Loose Women, a regular presenter on the Early Morning Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and the Michael Ball Show on Sunday mornings. Katie's other TV credits include 'The Death of Aimee Spencer’ for the Crime and Punishment strand on ITV1, Channel 4’s ‘Famous and Fighting Crime’ where she trained in the police force, ‘Never Seen a Doctor’ for C4 where she helped people overcome their fears around medical procedures and guided them on their journey back to good health and ‘Katie Piper’s Face to Face’ where she invited women with facial conditions to London’s Harvey Nichols for makeovers with makeup artists who shared the same facial condition. She has also hosted several series of C4's 'Body Shockers' where she met people planning major body modifications and introduced them to someone who has already had the modification and regretted it.
Katie is also a popular choice as a public speaker and has told her inspiring story to large audiences at events such as WE Day, Women’s Health Live and the Cosmopolitan Self Made Summit, as well as speaking at events for major clients such as Google, Facebook and The NHS. Her topics for her keynote speeches typically cover themes around motivation, inspiration, overcoming adversity and keeping a positive mindset.
As a best-selling author, Katie has written a number of books, including two autobiographies ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Beautiful Ever After’, an affirmations book called ‘Start Your Day With Katie’, self-help books ‘Things Get Better’ and ‘Confidence: The Secret’ and a book written with her Mum called ‘Things I’d Tell My Child’.
