1. What can I expect from Virtual Survival Academy?
This virtual survival challenge is an exciting team-building programme inspired and designed by Bear Grylls OBE, the famous British adventurer, and his team. Virtual survival training is a live-streamed workshop that explores the essentials of survival in the wilderness and features the following:
The basics of survival: Protection - Rescue - Water - Food
Competitive challenges and timed tasks including knot tying, deciphering morse code and quizzes
2. Who leads the virtual survival training?
One virtual instructor will host the online session. Survival academy instructors include ex-Royal Marines and international expedition leaders. Bear Grylls himself does not attend the session.
3. How long does the virtual workshop last?
The online survival class varies between 60 and 90-minutes depending on the number of guests and the level of interaction.
4. What do online guests need to take part?
Participants require a good internet connection and a laptop/PC/tablet with a built-in camera or webcam to part. Online guests will also need:
a pen or pencil
a bedsheet or blanket or tarpaulin
string or paracord (approx 2m)
a pint of diluted orange/apple squash/juice
2m length of rope per person (a dressing gown belt will suffice)
5. How many online guests can take part?
We recommend no more than 45 participants per virtual workshop to ensure optimum engagement and interaction.
